Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville is a 410-bed acute and skilled care facility with a special emphasis on community outreach and training students to provide medical care in rural areas. The service area holds a population of nearly 200k residents, the hospital has clinics conveniently located in nearby communities to provide care close to home. Expansion and growth is currently taking place as well, including one of the fastest growing robotics programs in the state of Kentucky. Since 1971, Baptist Health Deaconess Residency Program has been dedicated to helping provide well-educated family physicians to rural Western Kentucky and beyond. We have a proud tradition of quality residency training, with graduates practicing all over the country, in both rural and metropolitan areas. Madisonville also is host to the University of Louisville Regional Trover Campus, where medical students who have completed their basic science years in Louisville then move here for all of their last two years of medical school. Medical group physicians can achieve faculty appointments and participate in teaching and research with these clinical students.
