This position will support Arvana, a subsidiary of Prescott's Inc.

As the Controller at Prescott's, Inc, you will play a crucial role in the financial management and success of our company. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations including budgeting, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and risk management. The Controller will work closely with the executive team to drive strategic financial decisions and provide insights to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.

This position will be worked onsite at our facility located in Kansas City, MO.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning and analysis, and financial reporting
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare financial statements and analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards
  • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance
  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management
  • Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
  • Oversees the operations of the Accounting department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury management

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial management roles
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, with the ability to adapt and learn new systems
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
