Scooter's Coffee in Phoenix, AZ is looking for one barista to join our strong team. We are located on 480 E Southern Ave.

Our ideal candidate should demonstrate the following qualities:

• Technical skills: Proficiency in coffee preparation and techniques, knowledge of coffee equipment and POS systems.
• Passion: Genuine interest and passion for coffee, and motivation to improve. Understanding that friendliness plays a huge role in earning customer loyalty while creating an amazing experience. Barista should also be able to maintain a calm, collected tone and attitude during peak hours without creating tension.
• Organization: Able to maintain each designated station while managing tasks and orders, especially during a rush.
• Efficiency: A strong, dedicated barista should never waste time, should think fast, use critical thinking skills, problem solves, all while without rushing and making high quality drinks.
• Communication: Should be able to answer questions with relevant information while remaining confident.
• Product knowledge: Understanding of the menu and the ability to make recommendations to customers.
• Reliability: Consistent punctuality, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
• Attention to Detail: Precision in beverage making, cleanliness, store maintenance, being proactive and able to handle all daily checklists.

Responsibilities

• Customer service: Greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about the menu
• Beverage preparation: Making coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, including espresso-based drinks
• Food preparation: Preparing and serving food & pastries
• Cash handling: Processing cash and credit card transactions
• Having knowledge of the POS systems
• Being able to multitask, take orders, and use critical thinking skills
• Cleaning: Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and anything on the deep cleaning checklists 
• Stocking: Stocking and replenishing supplies
• Following and completing checklists to ensure shop is well maintained

Qualifications:

• Must be over 18 years of age
• Must have open availability
• Preferably 1 year of drive thru experience & food handlers certificate
