Flexibility is key for us. I work for myself and my schedule is unpredictable and regular day cares are not compatible for us for now. My husband travels for work on and off throughout the year so the schedule may change when he is out of town (evenings/weekends.) The hours would fluctuate week by week, and we can set some parameters on what works for you by lining out the week's schedule and days off in the prior week or so and following as structured a schedule as works for both you and us! The expectation would be working ~30 hours across 5 days/week watching our son or going places with us all together. He is 9 months old and very active but a happy-go-lucky boy! You would get 2 days off per week, probably Friday/Saturday or Sunday/Monday. Of course, you would be welcome to spend time with us and whatever activities we are doing on your days off, or go do your own thing, relax and explore the island! We have an extra vehicle for your use both while watching our son and on your days off. We may switch vehicles from time to time depending on uses (4x4 vs. SUV etc.) We live in a small, safe neighborhood on a seasonal stream next to a pasture for hiking. We are also located a 15-minute drive to the beaches. The guest room is located in our house but downstairs, and the layout provides privacy from our rooms upstairs. We live a 5-minute drive from Waimea town which has grocery stores, shopping, coffee shops and restaurants.
